Steve Pistorius is an early Jazz pianist and bandleader from New Orleans, Louisiana.

His new album Living Room Sessions Vol. I is out now.

Steve is passionate about early New Orleans Jazz piano styles.

His favorite style is that of one of the most important figures in the creation of Jazz, pianist and composer Ferdinand Joseph Morton, better known as Jelly Roll Morton. Steve operates on a fundamental belief that the principles and boundaries of early Jazz music should be adhered to, and that the music is relevant, fresh and alive when played with some degree of proficiency and lots of love.

New Album Out Now

Living Room Sessions Vol. I: New Orleans Treasures features rarely played tunes by some of the greatest early New Orleans Jazz musicians, beautifully recorded in Steve's living room using a reel to reel machine and an antique RCA ribbon microphone.

Praise for Living Room Sessions Vol. I

“this disc benefits immensely from the collective relaxation of Steve’s living room — a friendly gathering rather than a doctoral examination.  You can hear it.  And the “vintage” technology, while never blurring the sound, is also comfortable.  The result is rather like being invited to hear music next door — a rent party where everyone is sweetly attentive and the music soars.”
